Armenian Minister of Defense of Armenia Suren Papikyan on Thursday received the delegation led by the Chief of the Defence Staff of Italy Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, who is in Armenia on a working visit, the Ministry of Defense said.

Issues related to the Armenian-Italian defense cooperation and regional security were discussed.

The Minister of Defense emphasized the prospects for development of relations in various aspects of bilateral interest, on which agreements were reached during the meeting.

Last month, France has announced its commitment to bolster Armenia's air defense capabilities by selling three advanced radars and agreeing to provide Mistral anti-air missiles in the near future.

The partnership between the two nations has been solidified through the sale of three GM 200 radars, produced by the renowned defense company Thales.
