Erdogan to meet with Putin and Raisi to discuss Syria next week
Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to discuss Syria during a visit to Tehran next Tuesday, the Kremlin said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin will travel to Tehran on a rare visit next Tuesday to attend a trilateral meeting for Syria-related talks under what is known as the Astana format of meetings.
This is the second time Putin travels abroad since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in late February.
During the visit, Putin will also have a separate meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Peskov said.
The Kremlin earlier on Monday stated that Putin and Erdogan after a phone conversation decided to hold in-person talks to discuss further the efforts to facilitate grain exports from Ukraine.
