Erdogan's ally advocates for Muslim solidarity amidst ongoing tension in Israel
Dogru Haber reports that Fatih Erbakan, Chairman of the Welfare Party, a staunch supporter of Turkey’s conservative government, has voiced his reaction to the ongoing crisis in Israel. The escalating tensions in the region have led to global apprehension, with world leaders and international organizations calling for restraint and dialogue. However, Erbakan holds a different perspective, emphasizing the need for Muslim unity and strength.
Responding to the Israeli declaration of a ‘state of war alert’ following Hamas’ ‘Aqsa Flood’ operation, Erbakan was explicit in his assertion. “Unfortunately, Israel continues its oppression without paying attention to these condemnations and statements. It acts like a festering boil in the region. Israel understands power, not words,” he claimed.
He iterated the need for Turkey to ascend as a formidable force, free from foreign dependencies. adding that “We need to be strong. Our late teacher Necmettin Erbakan often emphasized that Israel understands power, not words. For our responses to be effective, Turkey must be a bastion of strength, independent politically, economically, militarily, and technologically. Yet, this is not sufficient. Realizing the ‘D-60’ project, a platform enabling the collective action of 57 Muslim countries against oppression and exploitation, is imperative”.
