The alleged visit likely involves discussions with President Tayyip Erdogan about Haniyeh's recent visit to Iran.

According to the Ma'an News Agency, operating within the territories of Palestine, high-ranking officials of Hamas, including its Politburo Chief Ismail Haniyeh, have reportedly arrived in Turkey.

Israeli newspapers, Israel Hayom and Haaretz, also reported on the visit, citing the Ma'an agency as their source. It is speculated that the visit is connected to Haniyeh's recent trip to Iran.

While in Tehran, the Hamas leader met with several top-ranking Iranian officials, including the country's religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. There are also reports suggesting that Haniyeh is planning a visit to Lebanon.

Haniyeh last communicated with President Erdogan two weeks ago via a telephone conversation.
