A two-minutes long video allegedly released by Russia's state-owned gas giant Gazprom that has shut a main pipeline supplying gas to Europe last week, went viral on social media on Monday, showing how the ice age begins in Europe after the gas cut-off.

The video accompanied by epic soundtrack “And the winter will be big," has not been spotted on any of Gazprom’s official media channels, however, the company yet to deny any involvement.

Europe which is highly dependent on Russian gas supplies is facing an energy crises following Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in late February.

On Aug.19, Gazprom announced that it will shut down Nord Stream 1 Pipeline, a key gas supply route conveying Russian gas to Europe via Germany, for a routine maintenance from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. On Friday, the company said the pipeline would remain shut due to a technical issue. Further on Tuesday, a senior Gazprom official told Reuters that it will not resume pumping until Siemens Energy repairs a faulty equipment, causing a link, where Siemens Energy said in response it did not comprehend Gazprom's presentation of the situation. The mentioned leak did not constitute a reason to keep the pipeline closed, according to Siemens’ statement, Reuters said.

Moscow’s reducing gas flows toward Europe has been seen as a Russian threat in response to European sanctions implemented on the country over its invasion of Ukraine and the latest shut-off on Nord Stream 1 pipeline raised concerns that Russia could cut the gas supply completely, leaving the continent vulnerable in order to gain political leverage.
