Kilicdaroglu: “Look, this is the real business of the people”
Displaying an onion in his hand in his latest video on Twitter, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the opposition’s presidential candidate and the leader of the CHP (Republican People's Party), said, “This is the real business of the people,” referring to the latest hike in food prices, especially onions.
In the video shot from his kitchen, Kilicdaroglu warned that if President Tayyip Erdogan remains in power, the price of a kilogram of onions could reach 100 Turkish liras.
"Even now, the price of onions is 30 liras. It's just onions, they have no shame! They've reduced people to relying on onions," Kilicdaroglu said in the video.
In the video titled "Onions," Kilicdaroglu used the following expressions: "They are trying to deceive you with all sorts of strange artificial agendas, such as PKK accusations, because they have nothing else to say.”
He added:
"Look, this is the real business of the people. Dear citizens, the real agenda of the people is this. Because they know that when I come, democracy will come, money will flow, investments will come, currencies will fall, your purchasing power will increase, and prosperity will come. It's that simple. All of these will happen.”
Kilicdaroglu concluded the video with the following words: "By the way, may Allah curse all forms of terrorism. May Allah curse those who hide behind our religion and engage in all kinds of mischief. I will continue on my path with honest and sincere people, whether they are religious, non-religious, Turkish, Kurdish, Sunni or Alevi. That is my only criterion."
