Turkish finance minister excluded from economy summit by pro-government media
Turkey’s Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati was excluded from an economy summit organized by a pro-government media group on Thursday which will bring together four ministers from cabinet as well as the president of the central bank and where the opening remarks will be made by a video message from President Tayyip Erdogan.
'Turkey 2023 Summit & A Money Talks' is organized by Turkuvaz media group whose CEO is Serhat Albayrak, the brother of Berat Albayrak who is the son-in-law of Erdogan and the former minister of finance in Turkey.
The exclusion of Nebati put a question mark in the minds of political analysts while the minister of agriculture, the minister of energy, the minister of transport, the minister of environment, the head of the presidential finance office as well as the central bank president all said they would join the summit.
The news of the summit was announced in the web site of the Sabah newspaper, the flagship of Turkuvaz Media Group.
There was no immediate comment from the economy ministry about why Nureddin Nebati did not join the summit.
