Less than a week to go before the second round of presidential elections in Turkey, market volatility continues to grip the country. The Turkish lira reached an all-time low of 20.18 against the US dollar during the morning session on Monday, marking the highest value ever recorded.

The dollar/lira exchange rate reached a historic milestone, surpassing the 20 lira mark. As of 08:50 AM, the dollar was trading at 19.82 lira.

Meanwhile, the euro was priced at 21.47 lira.

Earlier in the morning session, the euro climbed above the 22 lira level, reaching as high as 22.27 lira.
