Angry crowds in the French capital clashed with the police during a demonstration to protest the attack that killed three Kurdish people in Paris.

The Kurdish community in the French capital Paris have taken to the streets to protest an attack that killed three and wounded three others in a Kurdish cultural center in St. Dennis neighborhood.

Riot police fired teargas as darkness descended to drive back an angry crowd gathered a short distance from the scene of the shootings as projectiles were thrown at officers, rubbish bins and restaurant tables overturned and cars damaged, Reuters reported.

Images on social media showed people starting fires in the middle of the street and smashing car windows.

"When Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin arrived at the scene, hundreds of protesters started throwing whatever they could find at officers, while lighting fires, the British newspaper Mirror reported.
