Drone strike leaves three civilians dead, a child among them
Three civilians, a child among them, were killed by a Turkish drone strike in Northern Syria on Saturday, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.
A car was targeted by a drone near a post of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the village of al-Raqas in western countryside of Tel Abyad district, SOHR said.
SDF Press Center confirmed the incident, and said that a 12-year-old child named Weisi Muhammad Weissi was among the fatalities.
Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that "three terrorists" were killed in Northern Syria.
"We continue to bury terrorists who try to carry out attacks! Three terrorists of PKK/YPG were neutralized by Turkish Armed Forces in Northern Syria after they have been spotted" the ministry said.
Acording to reports by SOHR, 96 drone strikes have been conducted by the Turkish military so far in 2022 in areas under the control of the Kurdish-led Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
The attacks left 98 people dead, including 10 children and 13 women, and at least 125 people injured.
