Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced that the leader of the Islamic State, Abu Hussein al-Qurashi, was killed in Syria by MIT operatives.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that Turkish intelligence forces killed Islamic State leader Abu Hussein al-Qurashi in Syria.

"This individual was neutralized as part of an operation by the Turkish national intelligence organization in Syria yesterday," Erdogan said in an interview with TRT Turk broadcaster.

Erdogan said the intelligence organization had pursued Qurashi for a long time.

“When America neutralizes the heads of Daesh, they will raise the world. Here you go, right now we have neutralized not one, not two, not three, but how many of them are connected to Daesh," Erdoğan said.

Erdogan claimed that the MIT (National Intelligience Organization) turned into an effective organization that carried out international operations and fought against terrorism in the international arena during their time, and it currently has a very wide spread network, both in terms of physical space and international communication.

"Our organization has also reached the capacity to host meetings between, for example, American and Russian intelligence units," Erdogan said.
