While a Turkish-backed faction's commander was killed by unidentified gunmen in Afrin, clashes erupted between factions and Syrian forces in the east and northeast of Idlib province.

Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (SOHR) reported Friday that a commander of a Turkish-backed faction in Syria's northern district of Afrin was killed in an armed attack, as 'security chaos escalated' in all Turkish occupied areas in Afrin, Azaz, Al-Bab, as well as Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah countryside.

After the commander of the "Suqur Al-Sham'" faction was killed by unidentified gunmen, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to another SOHR report, rocket fire was exchanged by Syrian forces and "Al-Fath Al-Mubin" faction Thursday on frontlines of Saraqeb in eastern Idlib and Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4).

Several rockets hit the perimeter of a Turkish post in western Saraqeb. No casualties have yet been reported.

SOHR also reported that fierce clashes erupted Friday morning between the Turkish backed 'National Liberation Front' and Syrian forces following an attempt by the latter to advance into positions on the frontline of Maarrat Al-Na'san in the northeast of Idlib. Several Syrian troops were reportedly injured in clashes.
