Orban says he prayed for Erdogan's victory, calls Kilicdaroglu "Soros's man"
Hungary's prime minister Viktor Orban said that he prayed for Recep Tayyip Erdogan's victory at the presidential election in Turkey, because in case he lost "millions of people would have been unleashed on us."
Speaking at a radio interview on Friday, Orban also called Erdogan's rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu "Soros's man," in reference to Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros, the founder and sponsor of Open Society Foundations.
Explaining why he believed Erdogan's victory was crucial, Orban said it would have been a tragedy for Hungary if Erdogan had not won, adding that Erdogan will not let 4 million migrants out of Turkey to Europe.
"If Soros's man had won, millions of people would have been unleashed on us," he said. "Russian gas comes through Turkey, and if Soros's man had become the president, it would have been highly doubtful whether the gas would reach our country."
