A child was killed and two other Syrians were wounded during Turkey’s artillery attack near Tal Rifat, media reports said.

A Syrian child was killed by a Turkish military attack in north of Aleppo, Lebanon-based Al Mayadeen TV channel reported on Sunday.

A child was killed and two other Syrians were wounded during the shelling, it said, citing Syrian local media.

According to the media reports, the Turkish artillery attack was carried out on Tanb village near Tal Rifat.

Last month, Turkey has launched an aerial offensive into Northern Syria to combat Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) that Ankara sees as an offshoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

While Turkish Defense Ministry says that they only target Kurdish militia Ankara deems to be “terrorists,” Syrian authorities blame Turkish military for killing many civilians during the attacks.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said three civilians, a child among them were killed by a Turkish drone strike in Northern Syria’s al-Raqas village on Dec.17.

According to the NES NGO forum, the lead coordination body for nongovernmental organizations working in Northeast Syria, at least ten civilians are reported to have died in Turkey’s airstrikes.
