Second Turkish drone strike in two days kills two fighters in northeast Syria

A day after four SDF fighters were killed by a Turkish drone near Qamisli, another drone strike on Wednesday has left two more fighters dead in the same area.

Two fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the armed forces of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), were killed by a Turkish drone strike near the city of Qamisli in northeast Syria on Wednesday.

The General Command of the SDF said in a statement that the two fighters, identified as Dijwar Kobane and Jiya Qamisli, were killed in the village of Melesibat as the drone targeted the vehicle they were traveling in.

A civilian identified as Edip Yusif was injured in the incident.

Four SDF fighters were killed by a Turkish drone strike in a neighborhood close to the COVID-19 hospital near Qamisli on Tuesday, and three were injured.

Earlier on Saturday, four people, including two children, were killed by a Turkish drone in the city of Qamisli.

The three attacks by Turkish drones brought the number of fatalities in the last five days in the same area to ten.
