Turkish drone strike in KRI leaves casualties

According to unconfirmed reports, three people have been killed in the air attack in KRI's Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

Three people were killed and three injured on Friday by a Turkish drone strike in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), Roj News reported, citing local police.

A vehicle was targeted by the drone near the town of Chamchamal around 05.30 PM local time, Roj News said.

Erbil-based Basnews confirmed the attack, saying that A Turkish drone targeted the offices of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the district of Chamchamal, resulting in multiple casualties.

Preliminary reports indicate that the strike hit the PKK offices in the village Chami Saidan, and at least one person was injured according to locals reports, Basnews said.

There are also unconfirmed reports which suggest that one person was killed and two others injured in the attack, it added.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), one of the two largest political parties of KRI, has its headquarters in the city of Suleymaniyah, and it is the dominant power in the governerate.
