The SOHR has claimed that the Syrians were shot by Turkish troops as they were trying to cross the border.

Two Syrians were found, one shot dead and the other severely injured, near a Turkish military border post in the Kurdish-majority district of Ceylanpinar on Monday, Mezopotamya News Agency reported.

While the injured was taken to the public hospital for treatment, the remains of the other unidentified victim was taken to the morgue for autopsy.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) confirmed the incident as it also said that the two Syrians were targeted by Turkish troops as they set off from Ras al-Ain to cross the border. "One was killed and the other one was injured by the Turkish soldiers," SOHR said.

SOHR also put the figure of civilians who have been killed by Turkish troops along the Syrian-Turkish border since early 2022 as 15, including three children. 24 civilians were injured, including three children, according to the report.

The northern Syrian town of Ras al-Ain (Kurdish name Sere Kaniye) that is adjacent to Turkey's Ceylanpinar was occupied by Turkish forces in 2019.
