HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan spoke at the opening of the Green Left Party's election office in Esenyurt, saying, "Erdogan needs to go. This people cannot tolerate Erdogan's injustices and lawlessness. The peoples of Turkey are bigger than Erdogan."

EZGI YILDIZ- The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), which is preparing to participate in the May 14 elections under the umbrella of the Green Left Party due to the closure case against it, is opening its election office in Istanbul's Pinar neighborhood in the city’s Esenyurt district today. In addition to HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan, the Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK) Co-Spokesperson Esengul Demir and Green Left Party Central Executive Board member Cigdem Ozbas were also present at the opening.

Speaking at the event, Cigdem Ozbas said, "The peoples of Turkey will win, the one-man regime will lose. Those who want to close the HDP today should know that we will win with our peoples."

Buldan: Those marginalized in this country will never forget

HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan said, "The Kurds have been denied their right to their identity in this country. For 21 years, [the ruling administration has] been trying to govern the country with the same mentality."

Buldan added, "We saw that they abandoned our peoples to their fate in the earthquake. They think that this public will forget everything. But those who have been marginalized in this country will never forget, and they will give them the biggest lesson in the ballot boxes on May 14th."

The peoples of Turkey are bigger than Erdogan

Buldan continued with the following statements: "Now we have identified a new address. We have developed new moves against conspiracies. We come from a tradition in which we have emerged stronger after every closure. We need to enter parliament stronger to prevent these from happening again.

We certainly know the color of the ballot that our people will cast. We will specify it by name. But we haven't gone into the field yet. We will hold a big rally in Istanbul. That's where we will announce it. Although, you already know. Tayyip Erdogan needs to go. This people cannot tolerate Erdogan's injustices and lawlessness. The peoples of Turkey are bigger than Erdogan. We have faith in you."

Salih Yildiz

Salih Yildiz: I believe that we will all go to victory together

Salih Yildiz, former Co-Mayor of Hakkari Yuksekova, spoke to Arti Gercek and said, "I believe that we will go to victory together. There are shortcomings in the lists, but there are also different representations, and I think enough we have added on [to what existed] and have included people from other identity groups.”

Salih Yildiz, who had applied for candidacy but did not make it onto the lists, said, "It is not important whether someone has a place on the lists or not; what is important is to raise the sacred struggle of the people. The people have many problems, and it was important to nominate people who will fight for these problems, and that is what happened. The Green Left Party comes from the tradition of the 11 other parties that have been closed. It is a combination of people who care about these problems and want to produce solutions."

Other voters who attended the opening emphasized that changing the current government and fostering unity were more important than the names of the announced candidates.

Zuleyha Gulum

Gulum: We will stake our claim both in the election and in the post-election period

HDP MP Zuleyha Gulum also made a statement to Arti Gercek regarding the election. Gulum said, "The presidential election is generally discussed, but the parliament is more important in this term. As the Labor and Freedom Alliance, we need to make a strong entry because this period is a time to open the channel of freedoms and democracy. The election alone is not enough, we have to raise the struggle from the gap opened by the election and the gap opened by the loss of power. We will stake our claim both in the election and in the post-election period. We will build the future together.”
