DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, who visited the earthquake area in Nurdagi district in Antep, said that 90% of the buildings in the district had become uninhabitable

Ali Babacan, party chairman of DEVA, said that the scale of the disaster cannot be estimated by seeing it only on the TV screen, and shared his impressions from his visit to Nurdagi district in Antep.

He said that 90% of the buildings in this district were inhabitable and 80% of the rescue workers were volunteers.

"There are enough personnel, but they have problems finding tools. Everyone is trying to do their best. All civilians, volunteers. The situation is very sad." Babacan said.

He continued:

"It will take a long time for Turkey to recover from this trauma, to clear the rubble and heal the wounds that have been made in the hearts of all these people. We understand that. We will overcome these problems if we work together shoulder to shoulder. It will take some time, it will be difficult, but I hope we will overcome these problems."
