Association involved in aid efforts targeted by waves of cyber attacks
The website of an association involved in aid efforts for earthquake victims has been under intense cyber attacks, Turkish ANKA news agency reported on Thursday.
The website of ahbap, an association founded by rock singer Haluk Levent, was targeted in a wave of attacks from early to late Wednesday, and the number of attacks amounted to some 400,000, ANKA said.
It is assesed that the attacks have been carried out by a mobile network in Turkey, the association's web administrators told ANKA.
The founder Haluk Levent had criticized the government's decision to restrict Twitter on Wednesday, saying that tweets save lives.
He later informed on Thursday that 100 lorries out of 1,000 carrying aid have arrived at their destinations in the earthquake zone and the rest will follow.
