A devastating fire engulfed a tent city in Hatay, destroying 50 out of 87 tents.

The fire broke out in the tent city in Hatay's Kırıkhan district, specifically in the Bahcelievler neighborhood. This tent city had been established to provide shelter for individuals affected by the Maraş earthquakes.

The blaze originated in one of the tents and rapidly spread to the neighboring tents, fueled by strong winds. Prompt response teams from the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality and other local municipalities swiftly intervened to combat the fire. Occupants of the tents were safely evacuated to secure areas.

After approximately an hour of intense efforts, the fire was successfully brought under control. 50 of the 87 tents were completely consumed by the flames, along with the personal belongings of the residents. No casualties were reported. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
