“People’s shelter needs should be met urgently”
Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the leader of Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) urged authorities to urgently provide temporary housing for the earthquake victims in Southern Hatay which was hit by new tremors on Sunday evening.
“People’s shelter needs should be met quickly. There are major shortcomings here,” Kilicdaroglu said during his visit to the region on Wednesday.

“Unfortunately, we see that the need for tents is not adequately met not only in Hatay but also in other regions,” he said.
Kilicdaroglu also warned that there’s an unsolved water problem in the earthquake zone.
“Fortunately, there are local municipalities that continue to serve the people despite all obstructions. Otherwise, the situation would have been much worse,” CHP leader said.
