“State of Emergency will give us opportunity to intervene against sedition groups”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said a State of Emergency (OHAL) in ten earthquake-hit provinces will come into effect following a parliamentary vote on Thursday.
“This will give the state the opportunity to intervene against all moneylenders and sedition groups who abuse the process in Turkey,” Erdogan said in Gaziantep.
"We see looting in markets and shopping centers. We will also have the opportunity to intervene in these activities with the State of Emergency," he said.
