"Those who criticize the government are bad seeds"

In a speech to his fellow deputies from the MHP (Nationalist Movement Party) on Tuesday, ultra-nationalist Devlet Bahceli called the volunteers helping with search, rescue and relief efforts after the massive earthquakes in Turkey "shameless people who trample on the rubble"

Bahceli called the heads of two relief organizations, Haluk Levent and Oguzhan Ugur, impostors and said people should direct their help to state agencies such as AFAD (the State Disaster Management Agency).

Levent's Ahbap and Ugur's Babala raised nearly one billion TL and gathered thousands of volunteers to work for earthquake victims of the biggest disaster in Turkey's history, while AFAD was heavily criticized for falling short.

"We follow the marauders who remain silent for good and breathe evil by testing our limits of tolerance with clenched teeth and taking the necessary notes," he added.
