A hurricane has devastated entire tent sites, killed at least one, and severely injured at least twelve, Halk TV's Ferit Demir has reported from the scene of incident.

At least one was killed and 20 were injured on Thursday in Turkey's earthquake hit province of Maras when roofs of building were ripped off by a hurricane and parts of the roofs came crashing on nearby tents of quake survivors.

Large roof parts landed on tents at two neighborhoods in the district of Pazarcik, the epicenter of the earthquake on 6 February, Halk TV's Ferit Demir reported, noting that there were children among the casualties.

Several vehicles were lifted high in the air by the hurricane, entire tent sites have been devastated, Demir said, adding that the injuries of at least twelve victims are severe, and that the disaster authority AFAD launched search and rescue operations in the area.

He cited an earthquake survivor saying, "An earthquake is over, and now there's another one."
