The explosion at TUBITAK's Defense Industry Research and Development Institute may have been caused by chemical waste, Ankara Governorship has said.

An explosion at a facility of Turkey's Scientific and Technological Research Institution left one person dead on Monday.

The blast occurred around 4:40 PM at the Defense Industry Research and Development Institute, located in the Mamak district of Turkey's capital city of Ankara.
