Demirtas calls for solidarity after attack on Good Party: "Let's join hands"
Imprisoned Kurdish politician Selahattin Demirtas released a message of solidarity after shots were fired late Thursday at the offices of nationalist Good Party in Istanbul.
Demirtas said:
"I denounce the attack on Good Party. Such attacks can never be carried out individually, outside the control of the government. Some may be intending to carry out an election campaign with guns and threats, but everybody should prepare themselves with determination and courage for 14 May. Be patient, we'll change together."
He added:
"We're actually living in a paradise-like country. Let's join hands to get rid of this government who sets us against each other, who is afraid of peace and brotherhood, who has turned the country into inferno. Turkey belongs to all of us. The Republic belongs to all of us. The bright and beautiful days to come, they belong to all of us."
