"These kind of things happen in the parliament, I will not apologize," the ruling party deputy who delivered the punch has said.

A Turkish deputy was hospitalized on Tuesday following a scuffle between the deputies of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and nationalist opposition Good Party in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).

After a punch delivered by AKP deputy Zafer Isik, Good Party deputy Huseyin Ors, who had an underlying heart condition and a heart battery, collapsed, and was first taken to the infirmary, then to the hospital, +Gercek reported.

Ors suffered a coronary artery spasm and is being treated in an intensive care unit, +Gercek said.

Good Party deputy and medical doctor Aylin Cesur said after she visited the hospital that Ors was revived by cardioversion.

Cesur added that after restoring a regular heart rhythm, Ors was put into a state of unconsciousness. "He is still in critical condition," she said.

Zafer Isik spoke to Diken after the incident. He said:

"These kind of things happen in the parliament. I will not apologize. Our parliamentary group might release a statement if they think it's necessary."
