The Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoglu said if the joint candidate of the Nation Alliance succeeds in the upcoming elections, all the party leaders in the alliance will serve in the government as vice presidents

The opposition bloc will not allow its candidate to run the country single-handedly if the elections are won against President Tayyip Erdogan, the Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoglu said in a televised interview in Haberturk TV, adding that all the party leaders who joined forces in the Nation Alliance will be a part of the cabinet as vice presidents.

Davutoglu also formulated how the six parties will share the ministers:

“The parties will have a number of ministries in proportion to their number of deputies elected. Let's say party A will have 7-8 ministries if it has a large majority. All the parties in the Table of Six will receive at least one ministry each,” he said.

A potential rift over power sharing among the opposition alliance will be an important propaganda tool for President Erdogan, who frequently argues multiple voices will result with lack of stability in the government.

“Why should the nation put someone who cannot decide on any issue of the country and the people with his free will?” he asked on Tuesday. “Six captains will sink a ship,” he said.

The opposition alliance is expected to announce on January 30 its programme to run the government should it win the elections. The alliance is yet to begin discussing names to nominate a candidate to run against Erdogan.
