“We will surely thwart the games of those who want to manipulate the electoral process with blood and brutality. Let no one doubt that,” pro-Kurdish HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar said

Certain power groups within the government and within the state are definitely planning to manipulate the election process and politics with their chaos plans and the bombing in Istanbul, Pro-Kurdish HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) Co-Chair Mithat Sancar said, referring to the bombing in the busy Istiklal Street of Istanbul last week that killed six and wounded 80 people.

“We define this attack as an 'atrocity' and we see it as a crime against humanity. This has always been our attitude, it is so now, and it will be so in the future,” Sancar said.

The HDP Co-Chair blamed the government for implementing a blackout concerning the information related to the incident by banning news and narrowing bandwidth on social media.

“Why are you creating such darkness? Why do you resort to such a method of distortion? Because the people see the shady plans. We will insist and follow up on the investigation of who carried out this brutal attack. We will insistently demand it, and we will make every effort on this path to reveal the truth,” Sancar said.

“We will surely thwart the games of manipulating the electoral process with blood and brutality. Let no one doubt that,” he said.

Sancar accused the ruling bloc of deepening the deadlock in the Kurdish question and chaos with warring policies as he gave examples from previous attacks in Turkey saying “in which centers and by whom these dark games were carried out in this country.”

Sancar also lambasted Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu after he threatened the HDP deputies by labeling them as “terrorist scrap”

“This person has photos with every gang leader and drug lord and he threatens our deputies. Curses, threats, blackmails pouring out of his mouth,” Sancar said.
