Labor and Freedom Alliance announces support for Kilicdaroglu

Labour and Freedom, a leftist alliance made up of six socialist parties in Turkey including the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic party (HDP) has declared their support for Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the opposition’s joint presidential candidate who runs against President Tayyip Erdogan in the upcoming presidential elections. The alliance has also urged the public to vote for Kilicdaroglu.

The Alliance said in a statement that Turkey is currently facing a multitude of crises, including political, social, and economic challenges. Despite these difficulties, the people of Turkey remain committed to securing their future and overcoming these obstacles.

In their statement, the alliance emphasized that the defeat of fascism in Turkey can only be achieved through a victory in the presidential election. Furthermore, they assert that securing a parliamentary majority is also crucial to push back against authoritarianism. For this reason, the alliance calls on all the people of Turkey to vote for the Labor And Freedom Alliance in the parliamentary elections and for Kilicdaroglu in the presidential election.
