The number of online applications to MIT has increased by 50% in the last three months

According to data published by Turkey's National Intelligence Agency (MIT), over 89,000 people applied online to the agency in a period of 12 months to serve as informant.

While the number of applicants rose in the last three months, from 7,018 in June to 11,013 in August, the number of visitors of MIT's Website fell from a peak of 340,000 in October 2021 to 150,000 in August 2022.

MIT calls on ordinary Turkish citizens to contribute to intelligence activities, saying, "If you have any information concerning potential threats and harm to our national security, we would like you to share it with us."

Anyone can fill out a form at the bottom of the page and make an online application to serve as informant.

There is also a note below which warns that "applications for MIT jobs" cannot be done through the online form.
