Police storm HDP Councilor’s house, drag family members on the floor
Police on Friday broke into the house of HDP (People’s Democratic Party) Councilor Livan Orman to take him into custody, but when they could not find him at home, beat his family members and dragged them on the floor, Mezopotamya Agency reported.
Father Mehmet Orman said he will file a criminal complaint against the police.
Livan Orman was detained somewhere else later in the day.
Police broke the door down even without ringing the bell, father Mehmet Orman said. He was trying to open the door when the police kicked in upon which he fell on the floor.
“They yelled 'Get down' and laid us on the floor, and about 20 policemen attacked us at the same time. They dragged me on the ground and started kicking me," he said.
Orman said the police constantly insulted them during the search in the house.
