Almost 30% of the participants who previously voted for the ruling party's ally MHP have said that they do not approve the way Erdogan handles presidency.

A recent opinion poll in Turkey showed that a majority of Turkish voters disapprove the way Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is handling the presidency.

According to the poll, conducted by Metropoll, 53.4% of the participants do not approve Erdogan's handling of his job, while 41.4% approve.

The highest percentage of approval is observed in the potential voters of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) with 90.5%, while potential voters of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), part of the ruling alliance, follow with 71.2%.

The highest rate of disapproval is observed among the potential voters of the Felicity Party (SP) with 94.1%, while the second highest disapproval rate is among main opposition Republican People’s Party's (CHP) potential voters.

84.4% of the participants who previously voted for the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) said they do not approve Erdogan's handling of his job.

The rates of approval among "undecided", "protesting" and "unresponsive" participants are respectively 38%, 31.5% and 34.8%.

MetroPoll founder and director Ozer Sencar noted that there is no significant difference in the voters' evaluation of President Erdogan in August compared to July.

Metropol's poll was conducted on 1,717 people in 28 provinces.
