Prosecutors have demanded up to three years in jail for A.D. who sent 500 Turkish lira ($26) to imprisoned Mehmet Ildem
Turkey filed a lawsuit against a citizen for sending money to an imprisoned friend of charges of “knowingly and willingly aiding a terrorist organization”.
The prosecutors have demanded up to three years in jail for A.D. who sent 500 Turkish lira ($26) to Mehmet Ildem in Burhaniye T Type Closed Prison in Western Balikesir province in September 2019, Mezopotamya news agency (MA) reported.
In the indictment, prosecutors based their argument on the ward where Ildem was kept. They said that Ildem was held in "partisan wards", where detainees with “links to the PKK” were serving their sentences, MA said.
