Foreign Ministry urged Turkish citizens to be cautious and stay away from areas where demonstrations may intensify

Turkish Foreign Ministry on Saturday has warned its citizens against “racist, xenophobic and Islamophobic attacks” in the United States and the European countries, following aforementioned countries’ warning their citizens over possible terror attacks against places of worship in Turkey.

In two separate travel alerts, the ministry urged Turkish citizens to be cautious and stay away from areas where demonstrations may intensify.

On Friday, several diplomatic missions in Ankara such as the United States, Germany and France, have warned their citizens in Turkey against possible retaliatory attacks against places of worship, following the Koran-burning demonstrations held in several European countries including Sweden, Denmark and Holland.

Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Danish far-right political party Stram Kurs (Hard Line) has burned copies of Koran in front of the Turkish Embassy and a mosque in Copenhagen, Denmark on Friday, replicating the same act he committed in Sweden’s capital Stockholm last weekend.
